2. Bad news: The City of Boston can suck it. They denied my claim that one of their snowplows took off my rearview mirror and slashed my tire. Not because it is implausible that damage that could only have been inflicted by a snowplow took place in the middle of a snowstorn, but because I CAN'T TELL THEM WHICH VEHICLE DID IT TO ME. That's because it was a hit and run, geniuses. Sigh. All I am asking for is the $300 it cost me to fix it. Am I really going to have to take the city to small claims court? Are there any lawyers in the house who could unofficially give me some advice?
3. Good news: I just got cast in the ensemble for Singin' in the Rain at the Footlight! I think this show is going to be really fun. Glitzy, campy, and full of tap dancin'. At our first musical rehearsal yesterday, Michael assigned the last, highest note in the finale to me - and just me. Dude. I better not pick up a whiskey and cigarettes habit between now and April.
4. Not news: Today is Super Tuesday. Don't forget to vote, fools!
5. Also not news, but a request for advice: I'm trying to find a cheap bookcase. I went last weekend to Ikea and ruled out their offerings - a bookcase needs have more than a cardboard back to it. So a little less cheap than that. Then I went to Boomerangs, but everything they have at the moment looks like it was designed for the Recently Divorced and Suicidally Depressed set. I looked at Target online and they had something in cherry, 2 1/2 ft wide, 5 1/2 ft tall but it was $139 before shipping and I know I can do better than that. I'm going to hit Boston Wood on my way home - anyone have any other ideas before I commit?
